CHINESE FACTORY VISITS

Ever since the pandemic hit the world, the face of international business changed. Traveling and crossing borders became a challenge for many enterprises. As a result, more and more collaborators entrusted us with the task of supervising the whole process of their project. Considering that China’s borders are still closed, visiting factories and sending daily reports are undeniably an essential part of our work. By ensuring all our client’s requirements are met and communicating to them the advancements in production, we became their link point to China.

We are well aware that being able to be on-site and traveling to all factories in China, is one of our strongest assets and allow our clients to rely on us with rested minds.

When collaborating with new partners/factories for significant projects, we believe that factory visits are essential, there is no downside to factory visits, and they represent a lot of perks:

  • If a factory has the potential of becoming a long-term partnership, it is well seen to visit factories and emphasize that the business cares about this partnership and show the human side of the business.
  • Visiting the factory also allows us to supervise the product quality and check on production. It allows us to supervise that all requirements for the projects are met and that all conditions are respected and correspond to our needs.
  • Being on-site is also an opportunity to observe the factory working conditions and the production chain. Indeed, we can make sure that no process is time-wasting and even find new opportunities to optimize processes that can be improved.

Visiting a factory allows a business to assess if they are fit for a long-term partnership:

  • It allows us to assess the factory’s capacity and if they have the ability to develop next-generation products as well
  • We can assess the financial health of the factory
  • We can observe if the factory has good working conditions and respect for safety precautions
  • We can make sure that materials are stored properly, clean, and well organized.

A lot of concerns can be addressed during factory visits, such as the number of workers coming back or leaving the factory after Chinese New Year and how it would affect production. We can investigate the factory’s precise lead time and how they thoroughly perform their quality control.

A trip to visit the factory is a cost that can have a lot of added value and can allow businesses to avoid a lot of future issues.
